Some elective courses that I have enjoyed are
Big Data Management and Analytics: Study of Hadoop and HDFS, MapReduce using Java, and Spark using scala. Introduction to Pig, and NoSQL databases including document-based databases such as MongoDB and column-based databases such as Cassandra.
Organization of Programming Languages: Exploration of functional programming and logic programming with hands-on programming projects in Racket and Prolog.
- Computer Animation: OpenGL programming in C/C++. Topics include skeleton/skin rendering using forward and inverse Kinematics, lighting, and animating using interpolation between keyframes (cubic curves).
- Artificial Intelligence: Heuristic-based and greedy search algorithms, logical inference using knowledge base, zero-sum and non zero-sum games.
